    A younger sale draft at 22 months of age proved a hit with buyers at John and Roz Mercer’s annual Kandanga Valley Charolais and Charbray bull sale at Warravale, Kandanga via Gympie on Saturday. The carcase merit of the sires on offer appealed to the crowd with the sale to $16,000 for Charbrays and $15,000 for Charolais bulls. Repeat clients provided strong support. Elaine, Vaughn and Natalie Pampling, Derbyshire Downs, Augathella paid the $15,000 top Charolais money for Kandanga Valley Londonberry, the only son of Berwick Doc Hugh (P) (RF) in the sale with five for intra muscular fat percentage and 138 for EMA. Kandanga Valley Laing (P) sold for $11,000 to Castle Livestock. At 21 months KV Laing weighed 920kgs and had an EMA of 135cm2. Overall 46 Charolais sires were offered with a 100% clearance and an average of $6,739.
