Hopgood Leonardo sired by Palgrove Gold Dust topped the annual Hopgood Charolais sale at Clermont. David and Lydia Dennis paid $13,000 for the red factor sire which carried rump and rib scans of 12mm and 8mm. The Dennis’s were seeking a sire that had positive fat to ensure their progeny meet specifications. The Family also bought another sire for $7,000. Second top price was paid by Palgrove for Hopgood Lethal, a son of Palgrove Hallmark.
Overall 49 sires were offered with 67% clearance at auction for an average of $5,696. Six sires sold immediately after the sale privately.
