Palgrove Charolais – Sale Report0 | September 4th, 2012 | Lucy | Sale Results
The Palgrove sale was attended by a wide range of stud and commercial buyers. Buyers travelled from all round the country, including Western Australia, to attend the sale.
The sale included 118 Charolais bulls which averaged $8,255. The top priced bull, Lot 3 Palgrove Forman, was sold to the Bode family, Percol Plains, McKinley for $40,000. This bull was in the top 5 per cent of the breed for 200 and 400 day weights and eye muscle area. The Bodes purchased three bulls for an average of $18,750.
David and Prue Bondfield are very pleased with the sale which cleared at 100 per cent. The positive price trend toward polled bulls has supported Palgrove’s decision to continue to move in that direction. Buyers said that they wanted polled bulls as it saves a lot of work on their larger properties and it means that there are fewer welfare issues for the animals.
